Twilight camp is a week-long camp for Cub Scouts that is fun and helps them advance within their rank of Cub Scouts. The Texas Department of State Health Services Youth Camp Program is the principal authority on matters relating to health and safety conditions at youth camps in Texas. An adult/guardian must register with a Tiger (going into 1st grade). Please inform the Scout's leader and the health and safety officer of any medications that need to be taken at camp. The Sam Houston Area Council takes great strides to ensure the safety of its youth as well as the adult volunteer leadership that interacts with them. Ice water will be available at meals and every activity area. The Pack must provide leadership and adult supervision for the Scouts who attend camp, plus provide for transportation to and from camp each day. They know who in their pack is an active contributor. Potential issues are the pace of the line, incomplete forms, late arrivals, inclement weather, missing payments and more. In few cases, we’ve had only one person run an activity station. The purpose of Day Camp and Twilight Camp is to provide a fun and educational program for the Scout and his or her entire family. On the first day of camp, your planning will be tested the most. All Tigers, Wolves, and Bears are eligible to attend. To complete it, a volunteer must give back to Scouting through five projects.

Adult volunteers make up the nucleus of the day camp staff by volunteering in positions to lead specific programs, support the general operation, or by managing a den of Cub Scouts throughout their time at camp.
