4h 30m, Beautiful and fun 2,144' Up The foliage ranges from broad-leaved riparian plant communities to fairly shady redwood groves. Double Track climb to Single Track descent. Trail is marked as strenuous. The area is part of the Big Basin Redwoods State Park, so it could be considered correct to call it "Big Basin". Continue up FR 780 until approximately 2.1 miles from the ride start and look for Berry Creek Trail leaving the road to the left just before a sharp right turn on FR 780.
— Roughly 5 hours round trip, for average shape adult. You have a pretty good 5.5 mile downhill ride. I got more out of this ride than I expected based on the previous reviews. 1,614' Down — At the first waterfall you reach, you can look down at the falls from the trail behind a wooden fence and there is a bench to sit and view it.
While that's not enough to satisfy any hankerin' for technical singletrack, it's enough to make the trail a little extra charming. 1h 33m, Excellent ride with short hike to waterfall view. Start early! You'll see a viewer comment at the bottom of this page describing this. Trail is hard, muddy, elevation, but worth it.
10mi Trail, California State Parks - Big Basin Redwoods State Park, improvements Ride up FR 774 (Berry Creek Rd) for approximately 0.8 miles and turn left on FR 780 (Edmunds Powerline Rd) and continue climbing. You can bring the family and kids along. Continue right and head down the winding singletrack, descending to the gate and trailhead. At one point there’s a nice view of the valley where Berry Creek Falls is located — the only view that you get on this hike. Berry Creek Falls Trail is probably the most rewarding part of the loop as the trail begins to have some up and downs and brings you quickly from one waterfall to the next. For the most part, the trail is beautifully maintained and marked, although there are a few sections where you'll need to step over or duck under a fallen tree or two as you go. 45 minutes up the FS road, down endo alley.
