Hubs are towns or parks from which visitors can explore the river and its surrounding areas by canoe or boat, bicycle, horseback, automobile or on foot. Confederate Earthworks underscore the importance of the area’s bridges. Your Dream Wedding at Suwannee River State Park. The park is on the site of an old city called Columbus that was active until about 100 years ago. The Suwannee and its tributaries are home to the Suwannee bass, which is smaller than a largemouth bass and has a distinctive feature: red eyes.

With miles of trails, hiking, bicycling, and golf cart rides are one of the many great ways to see the outdoors.
Visitors are expected to maintain distances of at least six feet apart. Suwannee River State Park offers a boat launch, providing access to both the Suwannee and Withlacoochee rivers. County Road 135 or Big Shoals Entrance: 18738 Southeast 94th St.
Visitors can see remnants of a 19th-century steamship and two ghost towns that have been reclaimed by the sandhill wilderness, which is home to diverse and imperiled native species. Most folks have never heard of the towns of Columbus or Ellaville.
These locations have been designated as river camps, hubs and parks.
