Cypress Island is one of the wildest and unpopulated large islands due to the fact there is no ferry access and most of the Island is Department of Natural Resources, DNR land. Cypress Island is the third-highest Island Highpoint in Washington, behind only Mount Constitution (Orcas Island) and Lummi Peak (Lummi Island). Caldwell Communities proposed the water taxi idea, but the service is carried out through the homeowners association. Towne Lake will launch the second season of its water taxi service this spring.
