The lady we spoke to was beyond nice and helpful and let us drive around and tour the area to pick out a spot we wanted! This place is beautiful! This didn't seem like a place for parties or boisterous groups, at least at the top of the campground. There is one shower off the pool area, but it needs updated. This summer is our second trip to the Hidden Springs Campground and I absolutely plan on coming back next summer.The first time we came, there was a bit of a fiasco and half of the bathrooms were shut down, meaning half of the campsites were unusable. Hidden Springs Campground is located on the Avenue of the Giants, approximately 1 mile south of Myers Flat and 5 miles south of the Visitor Center. Dog friendly as well as long as they are never left attended, always on leash. Visitors must check in during office hours, All visitors must leave by 11pm. Winter snow is unusual but does occur at the higher elevations in the park, usually above 2,000 feet. Great campsite. Every campsite comes with a picnic table and fire ring to make your outdoor meals or just relax by a warm fire. Rain in the summer season is unusual, but does occur. A wide variety of activities and facilities are available. Today Humboldt Redwoods spans 53,000 acres, an area almost twice the size of San Francisco. I picked this campground because of the hiking trail to the swimming spot, but the trail was closed and the swimming spot was accessible by car anyway: point of the story, the swimming spot wasn't a bonus to the site. Our site was exactly what we needed, easy pull thru, easy hook up. The staff were helpful and gave us quarters in exchange for bills for our quarter a minute showers up by. The park also offers environmental, trail, horse, and group camps.
