After reaching north beach, you divert to the Diez Vistas trail. It was really nicely shaded for the majority of the trail and the views along the lake are pretty. To get there, head east along Hastings Street, through Vancouver and Burnaby.

Ok trail - view wasn’t as great as expected. The parking lot was full, so we parked somewhere instead. It's only a 40-minute walk back to the parking lot where you began your day. The trail is well marked. Take this trail and you will reach the suspension bridge that crosses the north section of the lake to the much quieter beach on the other side. well maintained and easy to navigate. The area is managed by BC Hydro, and they have a map of the Buntzen Lake area trails here. You’ll have to walk an extra 30-45 min all the way around the lake to access the trail due to the covid “one-way trails” implementation. Not too hard, good for beginners who want something more challenging. Hot day today but thankfully most of the trail was through the forest with shade. Dogs are only allowed to be off-leash in the designated areas around Buntzen Lake. Take a break here before continuing up the much less steep hill to the second viewpoint that overlooks Buntzen Lake and the busy beach area below. Towards the end of the hike we started seeing more people coming at the opposite direction but we suspect that’s mainly those people are via the park gate closures who are able to do the hike from the other direction. You can go clockwise from the starting point which will require solid climb up where you reach the views.

pretty good hike overall, we had to walk all the way out of the park since the lots were closed so we ended up at about 19km of hiking and we finished in just over 5hours. It’s a fun and beautiful trail with a good balanced up and down hills not too hard I’ll it’s a Moderate trail. Camping is not permitted at Sendero Diez Vistas.
The teenagers brought there Costco hammocks so once we got to a view point. Some viewpoints are better than others as the foliage has grown over the years. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, camping, and nature trips and is best used from May until October. Going clockwise means you will be going up the steeper part and down the slightly less steep part, which is easier on the knees. At the gravel road, turn right and walk a short distance towards the north end of Buntzen Lake.
