He fills Apollo in on his hunch, which turns out to be true as the two warriors attempt to get something out of the man. Although the Security men threaten (privately, of course) to report him, the incident is forgotten or deemed unimportant as these same guards -- and the two Colonial Warriors -- are taken hostage by Baltar, the Nomen, and Commandant Leiter's people. Director Ron Moore has commented that the Eights are more likely to "shoot things they don't like," and early in the series, they are implied to be the most militaristic of the models and the most likely to have combat training. When found out, he utters, "Jolly, you forgot the kids!" As a flight leader, Boomer led the Viper attack (with Sheba) on the lone base star the fleet encountered-after trying to help Apollo clear up the signal on a long-range transmission that led the fleet to the base star's location.
In a scuffle with Starbuck, Sharon flees in Starbuck's captured Cylon Raider, but later returns to help rescue Starbuck from a Cylon facility. Herb Jefferson Jr. also worked in several movies, including Outbreak and the TV film Apollo 13. That’s an interesting question and one I don’t have a neat answer to. Shortly after the Battle of Carillon, Boomer and Jolly contracted a disease on an asteroid containing a Cylon listening post. The call signs for both Sharons hail back to the original Battlestar Galactica series. Boomer helped civilians escape during the fire that raged through the Galactica, and was one of the warriors to disappear into the strange Ship of Lights. Caprica showrunner Kevin Murphy said that, had the prequel series Caprica continued, it would have revealed that the Eights' default personality was modelled after that of Tamara Adama.[4]. This character differed from the original Boomer in several important ways: she was female; "Boomer" was only her military call sign and not her actual name; and she was revealed to be a humanoid Cylon sleeper agent, one of many copies of the Cylon model known as Number Eight. In Saga of a Star World, he was one of the three recipients (Apollo and Starbuck being the other two) of the Golden Star Cluster, the highest military honor that could be awarded to Colonial Service warriors (similar to the Medal of Honor for the real-world United States armed forces). Battlestar Galactica: The Plan reveals that the Cavil aboard the Galactica used an elephant figurine to trigger Boomer's sleeper nature. Apollo and Boomer land on the planet sometime later to see that the Cylons, lead by the unscrupulous Specter, flee the planet.

Valerii was one of many sent into Colonial society in the 1990s with the goal of infiltrating the government and military. Later in the series, Boomer appears among the Cylons occupying New Caprica as a member of the Cylon governing council controlling the human puppet government.
