Very good with a couple changes: added julienned carrots, added chilies (instead/addition to sriracha), 1/2 eggs. For the sauce, I couldn't find Tamarind Paste, just a liquid concentrate. Pour off frying oil and reserve. Drain well in a colander and cover with a dampened paper towel. Heat 2 teaspoons vegetable oil in pan over medium-high heat. I've found that I also love my Pad Thai made with thinner rice noodles. After a taste of this quicker vegetarian version, we think you'll start to feel that same sense of loyalty. Add tofu, bean sprouts, and 1 1/2 cups sauce and simmer, turning noodles over to absorb sauce evenly, until noodles are tender, about 2 minutes. All I can say is WOW. Scrape the noodles to one side of the pan and add the eggs. This is not a vegetarian dish. The health food coop had the tamarind in a frozen paste for 99ยข - and it worked perfect and not need to strain!
Add the sauce and stir-fry until the noodles are evenly coated and the sauce has thickened slightly, 2 to 3 minutes. Slice the spring onions at a slight angle into 2.5cm/1in lengths. My guest were raving that it was the best Pad Thai they have had.

Asides from that I followed it exactly and I will probably make it again (which must make it great, because I never make the same thing twice). Thanks so much for sharing! 2 tablespoons finely chopped onion When it is very hot and slightly smoking, add the shallots, onion, spring onions, chillies and garlic, and stir-fry for one minute. It was AMAZING! tastes great. We don't have any Thai restaurants or speciality markets in our area so it was a project collecting the ingredients. With prep and cooking, it definitely takes more than 1 hour.
This recipe tasted wonderful! Add the bean sprouts and continue to stir-fry for four minutes. Heat wok over high heat until a drop of water evaporates instantly. It contains EGGS! Handcrafted firm tofu with carrots, scallions and peanuts in a Thai-style peanut sauce. This was. Definitely worth it it though. Soak noodles in a large bowl of warm water until softened, 25 to 30 minutes. This is one of my favorite dishes of all time. Add the shallots, and mushrooms and cook over high heat, stirring occasionally, until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Read a couple former asian restaurant cooks on a forum say that you can keep rice noodles from clumping by soaking them in tepid water for about 10 minutes and throwing them in the pan still barely flexible.
