The teachers are top notch and the principal communicates with family regularly on a weekly basis. This is one of the reasons I am taking it again for senior year. Also, I like that they encourage their students to step out of their comfort zone. The camps, mission trips, sports, spirit days, and so many weekends with my friends are some of the things I will forever miss.Although no place is perfect, I can’t imagine attending school anywhere else but here.
The school offers out of school trips for competitions and school performances. I took Choir and the sense of community I felt was phenomenal, the persistence of everyone and encouragement you receive in class and before performances is so warm and needed, making you feel as though you could achieve anything. I eliminated myself from that situation to focus on my education.
The staff is amazing, the PTA is amazing, the teachers are amazing! However, I would wish to see more regulation of the science department especially with academic physics as I felt that my knowledge on the subject was not being fulfilled due to insufficient staff. With that being said, if you are interested in the Visual Arts Program, just keep in mind that the art teachers are usually very unwilling and stubborn to teach the arts properly. Personally, I saw a lack of mental health services for the students. I wish the future generation luck in becoming the new legacy for Mayde Creek High School. Excellent school, teachers are the best asset they have as they really do care and put the best effort and interest toward the benefit of each student. My friends and peers were helpful, and I never experienced a "toxic" environment that I've heard exists at other schools. I am involved in the Athletic Training Program and it is honestly the best.

I transferred over from Taylor High School and I thought I would have a hard time adjusting because they are two completely different schools. Although I like to see the teachers be more active with their students, they are still trying to learn the best way to approach towards them. If an individual wants to take a bunch of AP and Dual Credit classes then they can, but if a student wants easy years then they can choose all academic courses that require minimal outside work.
